The Role:The Project Cost Controls Specialist is primarily responsible for project cost performance, status and issues. The Project Cost Control Specialist will provide support in financial analysis to the Project Manager Controls and Schedules in order to meet project requirements in forecast, budget, commitments and trending reporting. Preliminary assignment location is Houston, TX with required 50% including ad-hoc travels to the jobsite and will relocate to the jobsite in Hackberry, LA during projection execution phase. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required.
• Responsible for financial analyses and generating reports on scheduled and ad-hoc forecast, commitments and trending
• Responsible for providing support and evaluation of financial model
• Responsible managing, evaluating and reporting budget monthly status including look-a-heads
• Responsible for evaluation and providing reports on milestones, progress and spend curves
• Responsible for preparing project budget and finance meeting agenda and attending meetings both offsite and onsite
• Responsible for reviewing, analysing and validating monthly budget and finance reports in collaboration with Project Accountants, JV Controller and Treasurer Teams
• Responsible for evaluation of Contractor's Value of Work Done per earned values from Rules of Credit
• Responsible for reviewing and evaluating cost estimates for Change Requests impacts
• Responsible for providing operational audit guidance and recommendations for external and internal audits
• Responsible for providing ad-hoc analysis and reporting for scheduled weekly & monthly and ad-hoc reports requirements
• Responsible for providing feedback to project team members for the requests of information on cost, finance and budget
• Responsible for generating and maintaining project budget & finance "lessons learned" electronic log
• Work closely with team members to develop budget and financial review protocols, guides and procedures
• Work closely with various project teams for cost, budget, financial model, delay claims, risk analyses
• Work closely with project team on reviewing, evaluating and reporting on Milestones and Progress payments
• Work closely with project team to provide input on the development and streamlining of Controls systems applications
• Maintain positive relationships while performing duties in a lead role with customers, project team members and contractors
• Provide guidance and mentoring to team members to achieve project goals and objectives
• Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties)Essential Skills / Qualifications:Education:
•Bachelors degree in accountancy or relative discipline in Finance and Accounting.
Experience:
Requires minimum of 5-7 years of energy industry related experience in finance, accounting and audit.
•Strong background and knowledge of budget and finance of projects in oil, gas, power, Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
